Happy Father's Day Post

Happy Father's Day to all of the men out there ...

that have raised or helped to raise children, young men or women (depending on when you actually come into the lives of these youngsters).  It is a very important role, and we all show our love and appreciation today with Father's Day.

I had a few cards that I made this past week for the men in my life.  I thought I would share them here with you. The first card uses an image from C.C. Designs "Handyman Jack" that I have had for years now.  All the men in my life are carpenters, so it gets pulled out often. :)  The image was colored with watercolor pencils and a water brush. Lastly, I thought I had a tape measure stamp, but I did not, so the sentiment was created by  hand with a handmade ruler on yellow card stock.

Here is the inside of the Handyman Jack card created for my Pap using a stamp from a Stampin Up set called Whimsical Words along with the "Happy Father's Day" portion from a Great Impressions stamp.  The wood and screws background piece is actually thin, starched fabric from a packet I bought on clearance a long time ago originally from Michael Miller Memories.

I used an older stamp set from Stampin Up called Summer by the Sea for the rest of the cards, and scrap pieces from my bin (green stripes and cs - Not Quite Navy and Bashful Blue - are Stampin Up though).  All of the images were outlined with water color pencils and then shaded with a water brush.

**Crafty Candy!!**

Hello, my crafty friends!!

I was organizing my Spellbinders' dies last week, and I realized that I have two of the same set - Lacey Ovales.  I know, I know, you would think one would know what they have in their craft room, right?  Anyone ever buy two of something and then get home and realize they already had that?  Or maybe you ordered yours on line and didn't realize you have that already?  Well, that's what I did, so ... I thought I would have a little stampin' goodie give-away.  I have some other goodies to add to the envelope, a couple of stamp sets  - See-D's Crafty Phrases and Stampin Up's Playful Petals (both never used).

Here's a lovely tag Teneale created with Playful Petals ...

Mothers Day 2013 card for Mom

I would like to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers today, for those of us who have loved and are still loving the little ones (who are possibly now much bigger) and taught them the best way we knew how and for those who are just starting
this wonderful journey of Motherhood!
May the Lord Bless you All and surround you with those you hold dear this weekend!

A fairly quick card was created today using my Spellbinders Rose Creation dies and a sentiment from Stampin Up "For My" and Mom.

The flowers were created to match "fairly close" to the flowers I purchased for my momma for Mother's Day.  :)  Hopefully she doesn't see this before tomorrow afternoon though *fingers crossed*  They were created with yo yo yellow and bashful blue cardstock, sponged with cameo coral and brocade blue, embossed and curled and then placed in layers with the pretty white pearl brads.  Glue dots keep them from spinning so the layers don't cover one another up.  The leaves are from the Rose Creation dies too and created with textured dark green Bazzil scrap I had tucked in my scrap bin.

Inky Hugs,
